Meet the Founder
G. Nelson Crowe III
Nelson Crowe is the Managing Partner at Crowe Capital. With extensive experience in property selection, entitlements, design, project capitalization and lease up execution, Nelson oversees all phases of the investment’s life cycle. He has led the acquisition, development, and management of multifamily and mixed-use projects across target markets like Austin, Nashville, Dallas Fort Worth, Salt Lake City, and Denver encompassing over 16,000 units and nearly $3.5 billion in total capitalization.
Before founding Crowe Capital, Nelson served as Principal at Endeavor, where he started and led the company’s multifamily acquisition and development platform. Prior to joining Endeavor in 2016, Nelson spent eight years at Forestar Group, where he served as Vice President of Multifamily. In 2010, he was founding member of the public company’s multifamily group, which developed and/or managed more than 3,000 units in Nashville, Austin, Dallas, Denver, Charlotte and Houston. Nelson previously worked for Crow Holdings, a private equity firm that focuses on direct real estate investment through equity funds. While there, he worked on the capital placement of an $850 million equity fund.
Nelson holds a BBA in Real Estate Finance and BA in Spanish from Southern Methodist University and is actively involved in several real estate and community organizations. He currently serves as a member of the Executive Committee, Board of Directors and Finance Chair for the Real Estate Council of Austin as well as a member of the Advisory Council for the Real Estate Finance and Investment Center at McCombs School of Business (Texas). Nelson is the Chair for Apartment Life’s Central Texas Advisory Board, a faith-based, national non-profit serving the apartment community. Additionally, he served as past Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Facilities Chair for Austin Achieve Public Schools, a K-12 charter school system. Nelson resides in Austin, TX with his wife of 15 years and their four children.
